MORITA MFG was founded out of dissatisfaction with the disposability of modern fishing gear. Mainstream reels and field tools have increasingly traded solid metallurgy for injection-molded plastics, low-grade zinc die-casts, and superficial cosmetic paint that peels after a single season along the coast. We set out to build tackle that can be passed down rather than replaced.
Working from our facility near Suruga Bay, we machine our frames from high-density 6061-T6 aluminum billet and fit internal movements with 316 stainless steel axles. Every single reel, plier, and spool that bears our mark is assembled manually and tested against caliper gauges before entering our dispatch containers.
